Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Lucy. I get excited by innovation and design. I’m the Creative Director, resident DJ and CFO (Chief Food Officer) of Nineteenth Amendment. When I’m not photographing models, you can find me photographing food and inspiration. Sometimes I’m funny.
Before working as Creative Director for Nineteenth Amendment, I was a freelance art director working at agencies like Droga5, Y+R/VML, MRM/McCann Erickson and Grey NY. You can see more of my work here.
I love industrial design/product development. If I wasn’t a creative/art director I would have been an industrial designer. If anyone would like to invent with me, call me!

What does fashion mean to you?
I wouldn’t say fashion, I’d say style. Fashion is a means to an end. Our individual style is what we’re all trying to achieve.
When did you develop a love of fashion?
During childhood, when I had these amazing pink Reebok high tops. RIP.
How would you describe your style?
A woman in love with menswear. I tend to go for simple, neutral clothing with a bold lip and tight (i.e. cool) shoes.
How do you incorporate your own personal style with what you do?
When we choose looks for editorial shoots, window displays, or runway pieces, I tend to choose and present the looks I would wear. It’s always great seeing your look go down the runway. 🙂
What is your go-to power outfit?
Fitted. All black. Red lip. Comfortable and stylish shoes.
What trend do you hope never goes out of style?
Black. If that went out of style I’d have nothing to wear!
What’s the one garment you’ll never give away?
There are so many, but one of my faves would be my “J Dilla changed my life” T shirt Gemma got me for Christmas a few years ago, because, he really did. I love anything produced by J Dilla. A bunch of stuff really, I’ll stop now.. But seriously though, I could go on forever about music.
What excites you most about Nineteenth Amendment?
The business model and the technology. We’re so new, nobody in the industry knows what to do with us, but the possibilities are endless.
And on a personal note, the team :). Loveyouguyssomuch. Thanks for laughing at my jokes!
What spoke to you about the garment you chose to wear?
I chose the Jovan O’Connor Black Velvet Dress because it’s business on the top and party on the bottom, which is great for when you’re working or attending an event. I also love to wear black and/or soft pieces.
Velvet Underground pulls inspiration from the music and icons of the 70s, this time from Nico, the lead singer of the collection’s namesake, and the image of Diana Ross as Venus in Furs.
