We had the opportunity to get to you know you both at our NYFW event. Thanks again for DJing, it was great! Let’s have our readers get to know you both.

Lovely (L): My name is Lovelisa better known as Lovely. I’m an entrepreneur, athlete, and traveler residing in “Chilltown” Jersey City, NJ. I am the co-founder and owner of a lifestyle and apparel brand called Chilltown Collective. As a collective, we are also a supportive platform for other creatives who are passionate about their craft. I’m a firm believer that living a balanced life is essential, which is a major challenge when it comes to being an entrepreneur and operating a small, startup company.  I work hand in hand with a DJ that goes by the name of Kevlove. In my career I’m fortunate enough to be doing what I love and to be working with influential individuals. I trust that working smart, getting good rest, maintaining a balanced diet, exercising, listening to music, and finding “me time” as a student of life are key elements in taking care of your overall wellness and being. Music keeps me going and it’s something I can’t live without. Recreationally, I’m an avid cyclist, yogi and all-around athlete. I truly enjoy being outdoors and spending quality time with family when I’m not on the grind.

Kevin (K): I’m Kevin Madrinan, also known by my DJ name Kevlove. Being born in Jersey City, New Jersey, I was influenced by impromptu jam sessions and performances with my family. This is how I found my passion for music. I have several DJ residencies in New York and New Jersey, and I love to eat and travel during my free time.

What does fashion mean to you?

L: Fashion to me is whatever you’re comfortable in. That’s your style and what defines you.

K: Fashion to me is about being comfortable, feeling good, and expressing yourself however you want. It’s another form of voice.

When did you develop a love of fashion?

L: Probably back in 2002 when I declared a love for thrifting. I realized that trends come and go, but style is eternal.

K: I developed a love for fashion when I was in the fifth grade. Having style was a way to hang with the cool kids, but I realized that it was more than just a cool factor and something I genuinely enjoyed doing that made me feel good.

How would you describe your style?

L: Simple. Sporty. Comfortable. Toyboy-ish with a touch of feminine flair.

K: My style would be a cross between minimalist and street fashion.

How do you incorporate your own personal style with what you do?

L: One thing about my personal style is it’s very versatile and I’m confident in comfort. I like mixing business casual and athletic wear.

K: I select my music based on feeling while rocking a party. The same applies to fashion. They’re both ways of expressing yourself.

What trend do you hope never goes out of style?

L: Camouflage. It goes with everything and anything.

K: I personally don’t think trends ever go out of style. Fashion always comes full circle.

What’s the one garment you’ll never give away?

L: My sophomore year high school undefeated championship custom varsity jacket.

K: I would never give away my light washed denim jacket from Topman.

What excites you most about Nineteenth Amendment?

L: The team behind Nineteenth Amendment have built a foundation that benefits both the consumer and designer in its own unique way. It’s exciting to get inspired, discover and learn about up and coming designers on a platform where I could navigate and purchase directly from.

K: I love that Nineteenth Amendment supports independent fashion designers with an edge. I’m looking forward to see what they have in store.

What spoke to you about the garment you chose to wear?

L: Jovan O’Connor had me at velvet. I am in love with every piece from the Velvet Underground collection – the overall style and cut of everything is very “me.” I paired her velvet crop top and leggings with the Herringbone Pom Jacket by Lobo Mau. You can’t go wrong with timeless pieces with a very comfortable fit.

K:  I’m a minimalist so I’m big on essentials. I thought the Kevin Shahroozi Tudor City Denim Blazer would be a perfect look for NYFW paired with black slacks and black shoes.
