Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do?

I am an accessories blogger who defines my style by incorporating over-the-top pieces into everyday life. My mission is to use my blog, Excessories Expert, as a platform to spread my message of confidence through fashion by making accessorizing accessible to every woman. Through my posts, I hope to inform my audience of the latest trends in accessories, discuss where to buy them, and – most importantly – how to wear them.

When I’m not busy blogging or working as the Director of Social Media for Seventh House PR and Erickson Beamon jewelry, you can find me playing dress up with my two daughters, Stella and Juliet.

What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion is the way we express ourselves from the inside out. Our bodies are like canvases and the clothes we choose give us the chance to say something about ourselves—to tell a story.  Fashion also builds confidence. When we love the way we look, we feel better about ourselves and we are more inclined to hold our heads high and succeed in all the other facets of our lives.  Sometimes you just have to take off the sweats and put on the heels and be the boss you are. As Karl Lagerfeld said, “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.”

When did you develop a love of fashion?

For as long as I can remember, my favorite part of the day has been getting dressed each morning. I wore a uniform to school from Kindergarten through high school, so I used my accessories as a way to express my personal style. I used to lie awake at night and plan out my looks. Even as young as 3 or 4, I remember making hair bows out of paper to accessorize my little friends.

What trend do you hope never goes out of style?

Over-the-knee boots. Although, I’m sure this trend will go and then (hopefully) come again.  There is nothing I feel sexier in than a short dress and a pair of over-the-knee boots.

Describe your morning routine. At 9 AM each day, you are….

I wake up with my daughters around 7 am and as they eat Eggo waffles while I make my latte.  We got a Nespresso machine when our older daughter, Stella, was born and I’m pretty sure I couldn’t survive without it. I put on music (usually something country) and we all sing and dance.  In the midst of the sing-a-long, I catch up on social media and try to post on all the accounts I manage for work and my personal account before 9 am. I find that people are more active on social media early in the morning, because they check it when they wake up and as they commute to work, so I try to capitalize on that time. Then, depending on my schedule that day, I either go to the gym (I just started SLT and it is SO hard!) or I get dressed for meetings.

How do you incorporate your own personal style with what you do?

I work in fashion, so I am lucky that I can pretty much wear whatever I want to work. I love 70’s fashion and anything with a boho-feel, like embroidered peasant tops, floppy hats, button-front skirts, and overalls. These are all pieces that are both stylish enough for work and comfortable enough for mommy-duty.

What excites you about Nineteenth Amendment?

I love having access to the collections of so many talented up-and-coming designers and I absolutely despise paying retail (I’m Jewish!). I am always looking for something new, unique and fabulous and Nineteenth Amendment offers all of that with the added bonus of their amazing 19-day pre-sale prices!

What spoke to you about the garment you chose to wear?

I am pretty petite so I love short babydoll dresses. This dress from Kréyol is made in the most gorgeous blue print and is perfect for a transition into fall when paired with boots.
