The latest designer in our Behind the Scenes series is Las Vegas designer, Wanda Potter-Merritt. Her brand Vegas Couture’s resort collection was inspired by the glamour of Hollywood, with timeless but modern black and white ensembles that exude effortless elegance.

Designed for every body type and for a multitude of occasions, these cover-ups were a great pre-summer pre-sale to take you from the beach to the cocktail bar and back.

While we would have enjoyed a mini vacation to Las Vegas to shoot Wanda’s collection, our team took on a challenge recreate the non-stop energy and vivaciousness of Las Vegas with NYC as our playground. Nineteenth Amendment ventured to the Financial district’s waterfront pier and utilized the river, greenery and sky lines to our advantage. See how we turned lower Manhattan into a mini sin city!

On-site HMU artist, Ari of ACR Face Arts, gets our model, Natalie, ready for our afternoon photo shoot.

Our Creative Director and Designer capture the first look on the steps of the pier.

Incorporating the city skyline and striking a powerful pose, we transform this piece from cover-up to bustling city perfection.

Model, Natalie, uses her dance background to strike unstructured poses.

Even a local bystander wanted a piece of the action!
